Last month, we asked you which have been your best party themes and activities. We also wanted to know why you prefer to host the party at home, or at an off-site location. Here’s what you said:
- Our last party theme was Care Bears. This year, we’re doing Strawberry Shortcake or Hello Kitty. (How cool is it to see the themes we knew as kids coming back around again?) -Tampa, FL
- Princess theme is still big with my girls. Spiderman and Transformers are the boys’ parties we’ve attended. –Portland, OR
- Growing up, we always had our birthday parties at home with relatives. But the trend seems to be inviting a whole class of kids and going somewhere. Or spending money on face painters, entertainment, etc. Simplify, people!-Harrisburg, PA
- Soccer facilities and gymnastics centers like Little Gym are great for kids’ parties. We’ve also had fun recently at a swing set sales center and at a place with inflatable slides and jump rooms. No nap argument after those parties! –Columbus, OH
- Best parties in our neighborhood in the summer usually involve a Slip-And-Slide or a sprinkler. –Tulsa, OK
- For my 4 year old boy, we have his party at McDonalds w/ playland. It's quick, we don't have to purchase food for guests and no clean up. –Dayton, OH
- We’ve attended a ton of birthday parties at off-site locations. My daughter’s 5th birthday is coming up and we’re doing it at an ice cream factory. No cleaning the house before and after is a true gift to the working mother! –Powell, OH
- My daughter (4) absolutely loves the birthday parties she attends at Chuck E. Cheese. Lots for the kids to do. Sort of a headache for the adults, but good adult-child door verification upon enter and exit. –Lancaster, OH
